Rotate Video: what to know
Phones sometimes save videos sideways or upside down. Rotating turns the picture 90°, 180° or 270°; mirroring flips it left to right, for example to undo a selfie-camera flip.
MP4 and MOV files store rotation as a flag, so the video doesn't need re-encoding: it's instant and lossless. WebM and MKV have no such flag, so they're re-encoded. Turn on Re-encode if an old player ignores the flag.

- Fixing sideways phone videos
- Upside-down recordings
- Mirrored selfie videos
- Portrait videos that play in landscape
Tips for the best result
- Check the preview: it shows the rotation you've chosen before you download.
- If a video looks right on your phone but sideways elsewhere, re-encode it to bake in the rotation.
