About JustYourVideo
Free, private video tools, funded by clearly labeled ads.
What JustYourVideo is
JustYourVideo is a set of 15 free video tools: compress, trim, convert, crop, resize, rotate, mute and change the speed of MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV files, or turn them into GIFs and MP3s. Everything runs in your browser, with no watermark and no sign-up.
How it's funded
Pages show a small number of clearly labeled ads. That's how every tool stays free, with no sign-up.
Your videos stay on your device
Videos you choose are read and processed by your browser and saved straight from it. They are never sent to our server. Results are kept in your browser's private storage while the page is open, and old results are cleared on a later visit.
How processing works
The tools read your video with Mediabunny and decode and encode it with WebCodecs, the video codecs built into your browser, in a background thread so the page stays responsive. When a format change doesn't need re-encoding (for example MOV to MP4 with H.264 video, fast trims, muting or rotating MP4s), the streams are copied as they are, which is quick and lossless.
Speed and quality depend on your device and its hardware encoders. Keep your originals and check the result before replacing anything: re-encoding cannot restore detail that was already lost. The guides explain each tool's settings; they are not benchmarks or a promise of a particular file size. See all video tools, the privacy policy and terms of service.
Browser support and limits
JustYourVideo works in current Chrome, Edge and Safari, and in Firefox 130 or newer. Some codecs depend on your device: HEVC (H.265) videos from iPhones decode in Safari, and in Chrome and Edge on devices with hardware support. When your browser can't do something, the tool says what's missing instead of failing quietly. Files can be up to 4 GB; above 2 GB a warning explains that big videos need a lot of memory and time.
Open-source credits
Reading, writing and converting video uses Mediabunny by Vanilagy, licensed under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. MP3 files are encoded with LAME, licensed under the LGPL, through Mediabunny's @mediabunny/mp3-encoder (MPL-2.0). The MP3 encoder is loaded unmodified, as a separate file, only when you make an MP3. GIFs are encoded with gifenc (MIT).
